Banff Hiking & Biking Day 9

Today we had booked a tour through Johnston Canyon and Banff. It was a hike and bike deal. So we met our guide from Russia and off we went on a van to Johnston Canyon. We hiked to the Lower Falls as the Ink Pots could have taken us about 4 hours there and back. It was a little crowded but we learned that the place was discovered by Johnston when he thought he had found gold and silver. In 1926 a cabin was purchased by the Camp family and till today they own several of them and are managed as Airbnb. We also learned about the Black Swift (Vencejo Negro), a bird that spends most of its life flying. They sleep while flying. Their legs are so small that they can't stand thus the reason they have evolved to always fly. We didn't see any. We then biked 25km to Banff. We even saw a bear on the side of the road! We stopped to look at some beautiful lakes and mountains. Once in Banff, we went to the hotel to shower and then find a place to watch the final of the Euro Cup (Maya had been following it and England made it to the final by some odd miracle). We tried the Canadian Brew House but it was packed. So we went to the restaurant in our hotel "El Toro". It was empty and we were able to watch with out crowds and having a nice cup of tea. We then had dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory.
