Fort Collins
We left Estes Park to go to Fort Collins. On the way there we stopped at the Devil´s Backbone. Very dry terrain but nice to do it early to avoid the heat. We then drove to the Horsetooth Reservoir. We thought we would be able to do some stand-up paddling, but we had a hard time finding the rental place. When we finally did, they had non to rent. So we people watched. We drove downtown and Maya played the piano on the street as it seems to be a thing there. We tried to do some shopping, had dinner and went to the hotel.
The next day, we decided to go really early to get the stand-up paddling boards. But we decided to go for kayaks instead. We had a one hour blast in them. Gary kept telling us that it reminded him of when he was in school. We were just trying to look cool. After that we drove to Golden as Fort Collins was not that exciting. We walked downtown to find a place to eat and then wondered around and saw a place where we could rent some tubes and ride the river for free. Although you have to walk about 20 min up river.
The next day, we rented for the last time e-bikes and had a great ride around the mountains of Golden. We came back after four hours and exchanged them for tubes to jump on the river. It was not a lazy river at all. We tried really hard to keep our balance, but Daddy and Mummy fell in the river. It was bloody cold. After we got to the end, only Jack and Maya decided to do it again. This time Maya and Jack fell. Maya decided that it was enough tubing, but Jack just wanted to keep jumping in some small waterfalls. So Daddy, Maya and Mummy went wondering around down town while Jack jumped over and over again. After about an hour, we picked Jack up, changed and we headed towards Denver.
