Playa del Carmen
So this year Jorge got Elo a ticket to come to Mexico with the kids. She got here the 17th and Jack the 18th. We had previously planned a family trip to Playa for the four of us, but the place was big enough for the 7 of us. So we took off the 19th on a long trip to Villahermosa and then to Playa. The first leg was kinda of a nightmare as there was an accident that left us standing on the highway for over an hour.
Once in Playa we visited Cenotes like Jardin del Eden, Cristalino, Jaguar. We did try Manati, Dos Ojos and Grand Cenote but they were stupidly expensive. Liam and Ila were brave enough to snorkel and Jack jumped as much as he could into the cenotes. The weather was not that great for two days, but the rest were not bad.
We had Christmas there and Santa came with his presents. We then prepared for the long return. On the way back we had Maya with a bad flu and Jack with an ear infection. In Villahermosa we had to go twice to the ER. We had to change his ticket hoping that that he is better to fly the 4th vs the 1st. The trip back, the last leg, was horrible. From Villahermosa to Mexico we did 13 hours!! But we finally made it.
