Rome and Vatican City
We were ready to rock this year. After asking the tribe where they would like to go, Italy was the option. However, it would be done backpacking. The trip started with a slight hiccup, as we missed our connecting flight in London. We were supposed to be met by a BA representative so we could be taken quickly to the next flight, but they decided to take another family instead. BA booked us in the next flight early next day and gave us free accommodation, food vouchers and 40 pounds per person to spend at the airport. We finally made it to Rome the next day and although we missed our reservations in the Basilica, we did made it to the museums. We later went to the Coliseum, the Parthenon, Trevi fountain, Alter of fatherland and Trastavere.
